Provocation?

New Orleans police have issued an arrest warrant for former UFC fighter Nate Diaz .

What happened and what is he accused of?

Diaz came to New Orleans to support a friend. Now the police are looking for him.

Footage of a street fight involving Nate Diaz quickly spread on the network – the ex-UFC fighter applied a chokehold to an unknown man on them, and then threw him to the pavement. The conflict was preceded by another skirmish that occurred an hour earlier – during the boxing tournament Misfits Boxing 6.

One of the participants in the co-main fight was Cris Avila, a friend and sparring partner of Diaz, whom he came to support. Avila won, but could not celebrate the victory – during the announcement of the result of the fight, Diaz threw a bottle of water into the audience, which led to a massive brawl.

It turned out that he was aiming at Chase DeMoore, one of the participants in the tournament, who had previously knocked out an opponent, but received a disqualification for unsportsmanlike behavior. It is not entirely clear what led to the conflict between DeMoore and Diaz. Security did not delve into the details and removed both from the arena.

Diaz was taken outside, where his team joined him. What happened next is unknown. The beginning of the brawl was not caught on video, and the moment of the fight involving Diaz was seen from several angles at once. The footage shows Diaz being approached with his arms raised by an unidentified man who immediately fell for a chokehold. After a few seconds, he lost consciousness and fell to the pavement, breaking his head.
