In the 1/8 finals of the French Cup, PSG will travel to Marseille.
A couple of days before the match, the Marseille police banned Parisian ultras from visiting the Velodrome. L’Equipe reports a comment from local police prefect Frederic Camilleri:
“In the past, rivalry between the fans of the two clubs has resulted in serious public disorder.”
The PSG ultras effectively saw off the players of their favorite team. Fans hung out a banner with the inscription “only victory”, lit flares and shouted charges.

Of all the PSG players, Messi and Neymar have the most tense relationship with the ultras. The stars of the capital’s team defiantly do not approach the fan sector of the Parisians after the matches.
Fans still do not accept the Brazilian. When Real Madrid knocked Paris Saint-Germain out of the Champions League last season, fans booed the entire team, and only Mbappe received a standing ovation. Fans hung offensive banners about Neymar and his mother, and Leo, it seems, simply cannot forgive the fans of the Galtier team for such an attitude towards his longtime friend.
The fans took the first step towards reconciliation. Before the team’s departure to Marseille, Romain Mabil, head of the CUP Parisian fan team, spoke personally with Leo and Neymar:
In several interviews with French publications, Mabil emphasized the ultras’ desire to build relationships with star teams.
